SCOTT E. BROWN, M.D., M.A. Dr. Brown is the medical director of the Sinai Rehabilitation Center, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and Chairman of the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for LifeBridge Health. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and previously held certifications in Pain Management and as an independent medical examiner. He is a past president of the MWCEA, has contributed to the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, and written and lectured extensively about pain and workers’ compensation. His current clinical focus is the rehabilitation of amputees. ERIC BUCHNER, M.D. Dr. Buchner graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2008. He works in Baltimore, MD and 1other location and specializes in Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. Dr. Buchner is affiliated with Sinai Hospital Of Baltimore and Northwest Hospital. Dr. Buchner is board certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. NANCY COURSON COOKE MSBA’s Negligence, Insurance and Workers’ Compensation Section for the 2022-2023 term. MS. Courson Cooke recently served 5 years with the Maryland Labor Relations Board, by appointment of Governor Hogan and also served two three-year terms on the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of the National Council on Compensation Insurance. Nancy serves as Co-Chair for the Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance committee of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel’s Workers’ Compensation section. Nancy successfully argued the Chesson v. Montgomery Mutual cases, involving exposure to mold in the workplace and which joined others in prompting Maryland’s eventual acceptance of the Daubert criteria for the admissibility of scientific evidence, principles and opinions. She is a 1996 graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law. ERIN N. CORNETT, B.A , M.A.T. Ms. Cornett received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Delaware in 2006. She completed her Master of Arts Teaching Degree from The University of Southern California in 2011. Ms. Cornett currently is the Director of People and Culture at Excelsia Injury Care. Formerly the Director of Training and Organizational Development for Advanced Medical Management/Multi-Specialty HealthCare, (AMM/MSHC), a position requiring oversight and participation in the orientation, training, and ongoing professional development of some 250 team members. She is also responsible for the creation and development of promotional and marketing content as well as oversight of the organizations’ online presence. Her background in secondary education and coaching have equipped her with a unique perspective in carrying out her professional duties. THERESA CORNISH Ms. Cornish joined the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission in January 2012. She holds a degree in Marketing from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. In addition to her experience with the Commission, Ms. Cornish has over 35 years of experience working in the insurance and banking industry; and holds a life insurance agent license in Maryland and New York. SARAH CUNNINGHAM, BS, WCP Ms. Cunningham, WCP, Claims Supervisor with Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance. Sarah joined Chesapeake Employers in 2011. Previously, Sarah worked for Delaware North managing events at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Towson University, with a focus in Organizational Communication/Training and Development.
